Jamie Harrington began working with OCRF through her events marketing job at Hearst Corporation in 2006 and later became personally involved as a volunteer during the planning stages of Super Saturday 10 in 2007. She joined the OCRF Junior Board in the winter of 2007.
Jamie also has a personal connection to OCRF. Her mother, Lorraine Harrington, was diagnosed with stage 3B ovarian cancer in January 2007 and passed away at 59 years old in March 2007. Her mother had symptoms for over a year and was misdiagnosed several times. Jamie is committed to spreading awareness about OCRF’s mission, the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer and information about early detection methods for women at a higher risk.
Jamie studied marketing and communications sciences at the University of Connecticut. She graduated with a B.S. in marketing from the School of Business in 2001. Jamie is originally from Mystic, CT and currently lives and works in New York City.
