Ovarian Cancer Research Fund (OCRF) and the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance (OCNA) have led the way in advocacy, research and support for patients and their families for over 22 years. As of January 2016, we are pleased to announce we are joining together to form Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Alliance (OCRFA), the largest global organization dedicated to advancing ovarian cancer research while supporting women and their families. Jane Starnes

Personal Description:


Jane was diagnosed with stage 4 OC in June 2006, and subsequent chemotherapies never achieved remission. Her family and friends will never forget her optimism throughout her ordeal, and her success in living a full life in spite of it.

Personal Description:

Jane Keenan Starnes was born in Asheville, N.C. on December 28, 1949; married Nane Reed Starnes on July 19, 1969; and died in Austin, Texas on March 21, 2008. She was a graduate of the University of N.C. at Asheville and the University of N.C. at Chapel Hill, and was a librarian and information specialist, retiring from Portland (Oregon) Community College in 2006. She was also an expert sewer and quilter. She leaves one daughter, Sarah Starnes of Austin, and two grandchildren.
