Personal Description:

We lost our beloved mother Kay on her 72nd birthday, October 18th 2009, after a four year battle with Ovarian Cancer. She fought a tough battle with dignity and always remained strong and positive. Kay will be dearly missed by all of us at Stonemountain & Daughter Fabrics. Kay is one of those special people one meets in this life that transcends a work relationship and becomes a true friend. I will always cherish our special lunches and times together here at my store. I always loved hearing about her family and enjoyed how she lit up when speaking about them. I am so glad that I was able to take a little bit of video of her one of the last times she was in the store and would be happy to share that with her family. She was a true being of light and love and will shine on all of those who knew her always.

Dear Michelle; Chip and family. Kay and I worked together since 1982; some 27 years. I would think that within those 27 years there wasn’t a 2 week period that Kay and I didn’t talk to each other. Either it was about an exciting sale; a problem or just about life.
Kay cared about me ; my company ; her customers and most of all her children and family. She will be missed.

Michelle and Chip, Your Mom was my dear friend, my ex roommate, on occasion she was my flying partner as stews with United Airlines, and our maid of honor at our wedding on December 17, 1960. I have many happy memories of her and I will cherish them always. She truly was a special lady. Both Ron and I extend to you both our sincere sympathy.

My heart just breaks for her, for you two that you have to watch her go tuhorgh all of this, and for your family. Thank you for being willing to sacrifice everything to take care of her. God knew you guys would do it. My husband and I were talking about how God clearly provided for her to be taken care of- by a family. Not to be left alone with no one during a terrible time. And just like anything else, you should not bear that alone. Of course God provides for all of your needs- which includes us all doing our part. To pray and support you guys in every way needed. I am begging God on her behalf to heal her. Thank you again for being more than willing to sit with her and keeping her from feeling like she is alone. What a blessing to that sweet girl. More importantly thank you for introducing her to Jesus! You could have chosen not to listen to God calling you to her and just moved on. Thank you for not doing that! It is so neat to see how God works and that he does actually have perfect plans- he doesn’t just say he does. I am just sitting here crying for all of you. Hang in there. You all are not along either!
