Sarah Goodrich

Personal Description:

Personal Description:

Sarah Goodrich was first diagnosed in May 2009, during an out-of-town visit to the home of our daughter’s family. Sarah endured two rigorous surgeries, one in May 2009 and the other in September 2010. She also received four different courses of chemotherapy. Many angels supported us during the 19 months between her diagnosis and her death on February 25, 2011. She had elected to pursue Hospice care three weeks before her life ended.

Sarah was pain free and quiet as she passed away in our home. With her were myself (her husband of 38 years), our two daughters and our son, a Hospice aide, and our priest.

Sarah had recognizable symptoms just prior to her diagnosis, but like many other women, at first we thought they were minor and passing. However, her first surgery just weeks later revealed Stage IV disease.

You know when that special person crosses your path… that was evident when we met Sarah. We were blessed to have known her. She fought a hard battle. I guess those on this side of heaven think we have lost… however those in heaven have won. God bless you Sarah and God bless Sarah’s family. She will be missed.
