Survivor Stories / Tributes

Susan Carlson

Personal Description:

Susan was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in March 2003 and continued her battle until January 12, 2007 when she passed away at home with her family. She was 47.

Personal Description:

Susan was from a family of 8. She had two children, 1 grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. She taught cosmetology for most of her life and was adored and admired by her students. Her students would ask her “why you” and her response was “Why not me? I’m no better than anyone else.” She touched the lives of several people during her short stay on earth. She will be forever missed by students, friends, and family. If she were here now she’d say “You better learn to toughen up” but I feel like a piece of me was taken when she left. I miss you Mom!
