Survivor Stories / Tributes

Susan Henderson

Personal Description:

On December 23, 2007, at 55 years old my mother lost her 3 month battle with Ovarian Cancer. She was surrounded by her loved ones. Her battle was short, but her strength to fight this thing never waivered.

Personal Description:

Susan or “Yia Yia” to her grandchildren, touched everyone she came into contact with. She loved her dogs, gardening and her grandchildren. From the time of her diagnoses to her passing, she kept a positive attitude. It all happened so quickly that we hadn’t learned much about the disease, but to this day, I continue to educate myself and others with Ovarian Cancer.
My mother will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her. She was a shining light to those who came into contact with her. We will miss her “quirkiness” and her advice into lifes obstacles. She is now looking down on us all, cheering on everything we do in this life.
We will always and forever miss our “Yia Yia”.

Love you mom…..
