Join host Joy Behar and friends Mario Cantone, Mike De Stefano, Susie Essman, Jeff Garlin, Darrell Hammond, Sherri Shepherd, and Triumph the Insult Comic Dog for a night of laughter in tribute to Madeline Kahn.
Madeline Kahn, who was best known for her comedic roles, was a two-time Academy Award-nominated, four-time Golden Globe-nominated, Tony Award-winning and Emmy Award-winning American actress.
In early 1999 she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and publicly announced her disease in effort to raise awareness in hopes that more women could be diagnosed at earlier stages. “It is my hope that I might raise awareness of this awful disease and hasten the day that an effective test can be discovered to give women a fighting chance to catch this cancer at its earliest stage.”
On December 3, 1999, at the age of 57, Madeline succumbed to the disease. Her surviving husband John W. Hansbury joined the OCRF Board of Directors and together with OCRF, created the now annual “Stand Up for Madeline” comedy event in tribute to his late wife and to raise money towards OCRF funded research.
Please join us this year to pay tribute to Madeline in the only she would have wanted us to, with a night of laughter. This year’s event promises a fresh-faced line up of stars, along with live auction, cocktails and hors d’oeuvres.
