Shop for the Cause This September!
September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, and OCRF is pleased to offer lots of exciting ways to support the cause with the help of our generous corporate partners. This month, we welcome back longtime friends and introduce several inspiring new campaigns. There’s something for everyone, and each has one beautiful thing in common – all will raise awareness and funds for much-needed ovarian cancer research.
This month, longtime OCRF partners Alex and Ani and The Circle of Strength are teaming up for a special in-store event at select Alex and Ani stores across the country. On September 10th, 15% of all sales from the event will benefit The Circle of Strength. Ovarian Cancer Research Fund is a beneficiary of The Circle of Strength, and a portion of proceeds from this event will support our research programs. Stay tuned for location and event details. Also this September, OCRF and Alex and Ani celebrate the one-year anniversary of a partnership that has raised $175,000 through the Charity by Design “Strength in Full Bloom” 3 Bangle Set. 20% of the purchase of this special set will continue to benefit OCRF.
Our friends at B Floral are offering supporters in the New York area the opportunity to combine gorgeous floral design with philanthropy throughout Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month. For any event booked in September, taking place on or before January 31, 2015, B Floral will donate 20% of the final sale to OCRF. Use the promo code “OCRF” when placing your order.
Portable power providers Halo2Cloud have made OCRF their flagship charity partner, and on September 1st will begin offering customers the chance to stay charged at home, at school, at work or at play, with the black edition of the HALO Pocket Power 5500. This sleek, portable charger is perfect for charging of all mobile phones including the iPhone 5, tablets, gaming systems, GPS, and Bluetooth devices. Through December 31st, Halo will donate 10% of the purchase price of this $49.99 charger to OCRF.
LeSportsac continues its cancer awareness program, “The Hope Collection,” with the introduction of Hope Paisley, debuting in September. Hope Paisley is a sophisticated paisley with a plum ground with pops of orange and teal. Strategically placed teal ribbon peeks through the lovely pattern. The collection will be available from September 2014 in LeSportsac boutiques worldwide.
Fast-casual restaurant Newk’s Eatery is joining forces with OCRF at more than 70 Newk’s restaurants in the southeast, replacing their signature black cup with a teal cup and providing educational information about ovarian cancer. The story of Lori Newcomb, wife of Newk’s CEO and an ovarian cancer survivor, is available to restaurant guests and the public through a special flyer and a campaign video and on the Newk’s Cares website, and Newk’s will donate a minimum of $15,000 to OCRF as part of its charitable initiative. Newk’s is also the Presenting Sponsor for OCRF’s first ever Ovarian Cycle Jackson Ready. Set. Ride!®, taking place on September 25th at Country Club of Jackson.
Our friends at SEE Eyewear will once again raise money for research and offer increased store presence for OCRF and ovarian cancer awareness through their hip “Protect Your Privates” campaign, held in all 34 SEE locations across the U.S. Shoppers can pick up free ovarian cancer awareness kits as they browse a stylish selection of frames, and a portion of all sales every Monday in September will benefit OCRF. Be sure to pick up a Protect Your Privates t-shirt while you’re there!
Stand Up 2 Cancer
The Stand Up To Cancer show is back for the 4th time and we’re proud to be a new supporter! 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women in this country will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetimes. On September 5th, it’s time to fight back with some of the world’s greatest actors, musicians, and scientists. Tune in at 8pm/7CT on ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC and many other broadcast and cable networks.
Get Fashionable for Philanthropy with #OCRFInstaGlam and Sevenly
OCRF is on Instagram, and we’re asking you to help raise awareness while having fun by getting #OCRFInstaGlam for the cause. Haven Spa, a New York City beauty retreat offering “a little bit of heaven in the heart of SoHo,” along with West Village favorite Eve Salon, invite women looking for a day of wellness and beauty to stop by for a chance to treat themselves while giving back. In support of Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, these long-time partners will donate $1 to OCRF for every bikini wax throughout the month.
